traffic

A few days behind on updates, and I didn't drive today at all (spent the day installing OS X Panther, but it is happy now.)

A dozen BMW's yesterday, including two convertibles, which is stunning given the sub-freezing temperatures. (One thing the Mars Spirit Explorer has already taught us: the surface of mars is warmer than Boston...)

Only half a dozen the day before, but one hearse - a stealth hearse, even - it was actually a Ford Windstar maxi-minivan "special edition", hearse plates 317 if I remember correctly from two days ago. I wouldn't have even noticed if I weren't stuck behind it at the elliot^2 traffic light...

Panther

After finally getting a backup to complete, I started my day by upgrading kirameki-neko ("shiny kitten", the 12" PowerBook I got early last year) to Mac OS X 10.3 "Panther". After a fair amount of carnage and hate, it seems to be behaving, and feels mostly smoother and faster, though I haven't done much with the new features. I tossed together a quick web page on the process, though I'm probably one of the later people to upgrade so it probably won't help much :-)
