classic beard

I just found out that Norman Rockwell's "runaway" (a picture of a young boy with hobo-bag-and-stick, sitting at a soda fountain next to a concerned-looking police officer) was based on the police chief of Stockbridge, MA (makes sense, Rockwell was a local, I even remember school field trips up to Stockbridge to see the house and the exhibit, I remember some of the oil paintings done thick enough to have real texture) and of course, who's the police (rather, pohh-liece) chief of stockbridge massachusetts? Why, it was William J. Obanhein... more well known as "Officer Obie".

"Obie said he was making sure, and friends, Obie was..."
