classic beard

on stage

Earlier this week, I did an IAP lecture on "Python for Perl Hackers", covering how after 13 years of perl hacking, I've spent the last year migrating over to python, and why this is a good thing. SIPB has a web page about the class, and I've put up some archives of the slides, along with a 50M quicktime video of the first hour of the talk. Very free-hand, the slides are mostly "make sure you cover this example" kind of things - one of the better comments was that I should have started by talking about the code samples in the appendix to the slides. Still, it was well received, more than 25 people showed up.
